Thirty and five

Long time no hear. I've been busy, a lot of things was going on and I really didn't have time for writing a blog. So I'm writing it now. It was a pretty good week even though it's not a Sunday yet. There was a party, I went on a walk with my friends, cooking, cleaning my hamster (of course) etc. I love walking on sunshine. Just like the song says. I mean, who doesn't like walking on sunshine? I also like walking in snow. Not in rain, but snow. But because is already the end of the April, I really hope that there will be no snow. I already put away skis and other winter accessories. It's not convenient to drag them back out. Anyway, now the sun is shining and I'm not gonna worry about tomorrow. Since Easter is coming, I'll worry about easter eggs, ham, horseradish, and sweets. Sweet home Candylama. And if someone wants to join the After Lent party, welcome!

And now I'm gonna dream about ice cream.

#34

I was off for three days. I went on a short trip and it was great. I went to Italy, specifically to see Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre means "five lands" or five villages.
The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. "The Five Lands" is composed of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO world Heritage Site.
The Cinque Terre is noted for its beauty. Over centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible "modern" development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach them from the outside. The people are very nice, friendly and want to show you everything. They also want to sell you everything. They have an amazingly good food, especially they're known for their sauce called "Pesto". You definitely have to try it when you're there. Of course you have to try their ice cream too. It has a rich, sophisticated flavor. They surely know how to get more and more tourists. We also had a very beautiful weather, which made this trip even better. I'm thinking about moving there. If you want to buy a mansion, you won't buy it without having to pay at least a million euros. It's not so expensive, right? (read it with the sarcasm) But I must admit it was a nice trip with a nice people and I'd love to do it again. I'll post you some pictures to see what you're missing ;)

Thirty 3

Today I found this good recipe for even better chocolate cake. I recommend you to check it out here:

Death By Chocolate:

Yield: 12 servings.

Ingredients:

8 oz (225 g) dark semisweet chocolate (40-50% cocoa)
2/3 cup (140 g) butter
1 cup (210 g) sugar
4 eggs
4 heaped tablespoons (1 dl) all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1½ teaspoon baking powder or 1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons sour cream

Ingredients for frosting:

2/3 cup (1.6 dl) heavy cream or whipping cream
9 oz (260 g) semisweet chocolate (40-50% cocoa)

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 deg F (Gas mark 4 or 180 deg C).
  2. Line a circular 10 inch (25 cm) cake tin (3 inches tall) with grease proof or other non-stick paper and grease the tin. (Please note that the cake will rise to 3 inches and collapse somewhat when cooled. If your cake tin is less than 10 inches wide and 3 inches tall we recommend that you use two cake tins.)
  3. Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt it with butter over hot water.
  4. Beat the eggs with sugar, mix with flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and vanilla extract.
  5. Slowly fold in the melted butter and chocolate and the sour cream.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, approximately 40 to 50 minutes (if using 2 cake tins 20-30 minutes may be sufficient).
  7. Cool the cake completely. When it has obtained room temperature place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before removing the cake from the tin (the cake is sticky and difficult to cut when it is warm!) Remove the crusted surface on the top of the cake, and cut in half, horizontally.

Frosting:

  1. Heat 2/3 cup (1.6 dl) of heavy cream or whipping cream in a sauce pan.
  2. Remove from heat, add 9 oz (260 g) of finely chopped dark semisweet chocolate, stir until smooth, and let it cool until in thickens.
  3. Use one 1/3 of the frosting between the two layers, 1/3 on top, and the rest around the cake. Put the cake into the fridge for one hour or more to harden the frosting.
  4. This cake should have room temperature when served.

Since I'll be gone for three days, I hope you'll bake the cake and tell me how it tasted. Thanks for being that nice. And if you spare a piece for me, you would be even nicer.

Enjoy these 3 days and when I'm back, I'll write the next blog.

30 minutes of toothache

Yesterday I felt a little swelling in the gums. In one afternoon my gums swollen and it hurt a little. I went to bed with a tought that tomorrow will be better. I'm am afraid of dentists and I'm sure you don't like them so much either. I thought that next day I'll try to put some compresses on the teeth. Then, in the middle of the night I woke up and my jaw was very swollen. The rest of the night I was thinking if I'm gonna go see a dentist next day or if I'm gonna wait a little. Soon the morning came and I got up to go to a dentist, I didn't want to risk it and get into trouble. So I went to the emergency dentist. I sat on his chair and got a very very big injection of local anesthesia. I had to wait about 15 minutes to got my jaw paralyzed. I sat back and opened my mouth. The dentist wasn't too happy to see that mess but he had no choice than fix it. I was sitting there for 30 minutes for sure and thinking how happy I am because I didn't feel any pain. Thanks to the injection of course. He cleaned my teeth and even that my jaw was still swollen, I felt much better. I went home much more happy, but after few hours the injection has abated. Ouch. It hurts but it's also better than before. Of course I couldn't eat, especially anything what is difficult to chew. Now I'm drinking water and eating some yogurt. And I hope tomorrow will be even better.

Otherwise I could not have the After Lent Party in two weeks.

5 ways to escape your bed in the morning:
1) Because we all know the-monday-out-of-bed-morning feeling, I'll tell you a few ways to escape it. It's awkward when you wake up at 5 a.m. and you try to get up, but your bed keeps pulling you back and threatening you. At first, you try to lay back and pretend that nothing happened.
2) Slowly you try to get up again and reach your slippers. If bed still pulls you back, you have no option than lay back.
3) You move your left and then the right leg. If nothing happens, you try to move your hands. If still nothing happens, you get up piece by piece. If bed starts moving, play dead.
4)I'm sure you have some kind of scissors in your bedside table, so get them out of it and try to cut bed's evil assistant blanket. Then you move forward to your pillow. When you cut it all, in silence of course, because bed can hear you, put the scissors away and crawl out of bed on the floor.
5)When you're sure that bed doesn't follow you, run away as fast as you can, dress up, eat the breakfast and go to work.

Next day, you do it all over again.

Eighnty Twent

I was too busy to write my blog yesterday. We went to our aunt and we had a great time. We were discussing a lot and talking just about every theme. I don't remember when I was up so late because of a discussion. And the weirdest thing was that my aunt made a potato pie at 12 i.e. midnight. Who eats a potato pie in the middle of the night? The rest of the people eat different fast foods, burgers and similar. I must say it was delicious, a bit spicy because my aunt accidently dropped about a ton of pepper into it but ok. So I came home at 2 a.m. and fell directly into bed. Today I woke up, a little tired but rested and waited for my friend, who came visiting with a bike (driving a long distance) and we decided to make pizza. Oh, God, I am so desperate to eat some ice cream, but every time I see it, I remember Lent. Cannot wait for the end of this. I swear I'll have the After Lent party. I'm gonna eat tones of ice cream, sweets, chocolate and my mommy's pies. Be jealous.

27 dresses and salads

I'm sure you watched the movie. Jane Nichols (Katherine Hiegl) has been a bridesmaid for twenty-seven weddings. One night when she is attending two weddings almost simultaneously, she meets Kevin Doyle (James Marsden), who helps her home but disgusts her with his cynical views of marriage. He finds her day planner which she'd forgotten in the cab they shared. Meanwhile, Jane's sister Tess (Malin Akerman) falls in love with Jane's boss George (Edward Burns). Tess pretends to like the same things that George does so that she can get him to like her. Despite loving George herself, Jane does not reveal the truth and the courtship progresses rapidly. Soon the new couple announce that they intend to marry in only three weeks. I won't tell you how it ends, either you know it or you'll find out. Anyway, it's a lovely story. But that wasn't a theme which I wanted to talk about. I wanted to mention what a great weather is it. I just cannot believe that in April can be this hot. It's not normal. Not that I'm complaining about it, but it's unusual. Of course I prefer heat to cold. Just cannot wait for summer. You can eat icecream till you drop dead. Actually, you can eat it right now. Today I ate a very juicy fruit salad made of strawberries, melon, pineapple, grape and apple. It was so delicious and refreshing. I could eat it everyday. When it's hot outside is important to drink a lot and also to eat. Many people have a feeling that they're not hungry because of the heat, but you have to eat to get energy. That doesn't mean you have to eat steaks or something like that, but you can get some yoghurt or salads or fruit or just some grilled chicken. And for dessert you can get some icecream.

Well, outside is a heat so let's eat!

26 and pancakes

I made pancakes today. And I must say, they were good. Usually I don't eat pancakes but today I made such a great mass that I had to try them. Of course I used Nutella for spread. Who doesn't use Nutella? You know the answer. Anyway, making pancakes isn't that hard. You take some eggs, milk, mineral water, flour and if you need it, add some rum. Then you mix all this ingredients together and make pancakes. Easy and simple. And good.

Why are you still reading this blog? Go make pancakes!

Twentyfiveblog

Twenty five is singer George Michael's 2006 greatest hits album. But I'm not gonna write about that. I'm gonna write about animals. Today I was having fun while watching Animal planet and Dogs/Cats/Pets 101. It's a great show. It talks about dogs, cats and pets and other crazy animals. You get information about height, weight, health, care and if they're suitable for families or not. Here you can see many kinds of cats, even the funny ones. I was so laughing when I saw an Exotic shorthair cat. What a look!

And I bet you didn't know that Birmans have soft voices and are more active than Persians but less active and talkative than Siamese. If you watched this show you would know (yes, that was a rime). And the Pointer dog is excellent family dog, pleasant and easy-going character. It'll be like this with everyone, including visitors. It's funny and instructive. Once you have cats, once dogs and once...pets. Pets are lovely, especially the small ones. But when I saw a capybara today, I couldn't believe my eyes. Who even remembers to get capybara for a pet? It's a lovely animal, but outside, in the wilderness, not at home. I would be scared it would bite me to death while sleeping. I'm sure you know what kind of teeth does it have. Terrible. I'm glad I'm not a capybara, I would be afraid of myself. But some people are clearly not afraid and have these animals at home. In home. Or everywhere. When I thought that there was no more surprises, they showed the next pet: a dwarf donkey. Who'd like to have a donkey under his window and listen his braying? Hello, madhouse! I mean, donkeys are great animals but when they're on TV. So thanks for the Animal planet and TV, otherwise I would have to see donkeys face to face and they would eat me alive. But on the other hand, they're lovely and like people. All animals have positive and negative sides, but so do we. After all, it's nice to have some pet which makes us happy and relaxed.

Now I'm going to buy a camel.

2 to 2

What a sunny day! Spring barely started but feels like summer already. I love sun, heat and this feeling that this sunny moment could last forever. You just lie, close your eyes and wait. Wait for nothing. If you have time, of course. But nowadays we are all so busy with work, school, family, health problems or anything else. We barely sit down just for the sun. Other things are too important and we cannot take a moment to relax because this would be a waste of time. Inspite all of this, we should take some time and drop everything. This is only possible if we get on vacation and I'm sure everyone is waiting on that week or two or maybe a month. Personally, I love going to sea. Sleeping, swimming, sunbathing, not thinking...And if you're lucky, there is no sharks which would bite you to death. They just bite your hand. If that's not luck, then I don't know what it is. We should appreciate this moments. You never know when they move forward to the leg. And if they do, your vacation is ruined. That's a shame, you so worked for it and then you get bitten by a shark. So you must be very careful. If you go on a vacation, you must take your kids with you. Then sharks eat them first and you're safe. You can enjoy the rest of your holidays. If you don't have any kids, buy, addopt, kidnap or borrow them. I'm sure your sister won't even notice if one of them's missing, she has another 9 kids.

21 guns

Today happened two great things. I went to Ikea and in the store I bought 1,2 kg of sweets which I called it the After Lent Party. I gave up on candies, if you didn't know, so I'll catch up with them after Lent.

I'm counting down days.

Number 20 (breast implants)

Today is a great day. I got the date for my operation and they surprised me because I got it so fast! I've been thinking for a long long time and I decided to get breast implants. It's not an easy decision, especially because I was always against cosmetic surgeries. I think it's not wise to play with the body and our lives. We are not perfect but we were born this way. You cannot choose your body but that doesn't mean you can change it. We shouldn't change everything we see, even if we have such a progressive technology. It's good for helping people but not for exploiting all techniques. Not every procedure is good for us. So of course I've been thinking a lot before I made this decision. You have to make a review of all resources, information and details on the procedure and surgery. You have to know all the consequences that implants and surgery may leave. It's not easy when you find out that some women also died because the implants purulent. On the other hand, you can die from a lot of different things. Accidents, shooting, diseases...there is still a lot of risk. And you don't even know when. So after careful consideration I decided to take this step. I just cannot wait to see the results and I hope they'll do their work good. I'm sure I'll look awesome. I mean, my breasts. After all, you don't get an oportunity like this every day. Keep your fingers crossed!

P.s.: check your calendar.
